Imposter Syndrome: You Are Not a Fraud

Do you ever feel like you don't belong? Like you tricked everyone into hiring you, and any moment now, they will "find you out"?

This is Imposter Syndrome. Ironically, it affects high achievers the most. Albert Einstein once said just before he died, "The exaggerated esteem in which my lifework is held makes me very ill at ease. I feel compelled to think of myself as an involuntary swindler."

The Knowledge Gap

Person alone

The problem is that you compare your internal reality (full of doubt and mistakes) with everyone else's external reality (polished social media and confident speeches). It is an unfair comparison.

The Reframe: When you feel like an imposter, it usually means you are pushing your boundaries. You are growing. If you felt totally comfortable, you would be stagnant. Wear your doubt as a badge of growth.
